Jean d’Estrées created his eponymous brand in Paris in 1950. As Edith Piaf’s partner from the outset, Jean d’Estrées’ talents were also in demand in the film industry, both in Europe, for Michèle Morgan and Claudia Cardinale, and in Hollywood. He brought out Lauren Bacall’s beauty, invented Bette Davis’ pout and, inspired by Rita Hayworth, created matching lipsticks and nail varnishes.
Although they were initially reserved for an elite clientele, the beauty secrets of the world’s most beautiful women were soon to be revealed to the general public. Early 1970, the brand, as part of the L’Oreal Group, developed its know-how and a large network of beauty salons.
The brand specialists created high-performance speciality treatment routines. The creation of “Synergessence”, a beauty treatment that combines solutions and masks, revolutionized practices in the beauty industry.
